Railway minister urged to complete Guntur projects

GUNTUR: Guntur MP Galla Jayadev sought the Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to complete the required railway projects in Guntur city.

Stating that Guntur is one of the oldest Municipalities in the country and is celebrating 150th year of its formation this year, Jayadev said, Guntur, located in the capital region of Amaravati, needs world-class infrastructure, so he wanted the railway minister to take up the projects, including RUBs in Syamala Nagar, Nehru Nagar, Brodipet 14th lane, ROB in Sanjeevaiah Nagar and Arundelpet, as well as widening of Shankar Vilas ROB.

He said that as all the above areas are facing traffic congestion due to railway gates and in addition to that the location of more and more government offices in Guntur post-State bifurcation was adding more to the traffic chaos. Thus, he sought the railway minister to complete the said works as early as possible.

Jayadev also said, there was a need to regularise railway and other central government land in Guntur and provide land pattas’ to the occupants of these lands, also, expedite work with additional funds for developing Guntur and New Guntur Railway Stations.
