President Ram Nath Kovind to visit Tirupati tomorrow

TIRUPATI: President Ram Nath Kovind will visit Tirupati on September 1 during which the Andhra Pradesh government will host a civic reception for him. The president will arrive at Tirupati at 3:15 pm on September 1 and will proceed to Tiruchanur to worship Goddess Padmavati Devi.Governor E S L Narasimhan and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will receive and accompany the president. Kovind will then proceed to Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women and will inaugurate a 750-bed hospital building constructed at a cost of `101 crore. 

The State government will felicitate the President at the civic reception at the Sri Venkateswara Arts College. He will lay the foundation stone for the BR Ambedkar Skill Training Academy at Kothapalem which would be constructed at a cost of `25 crore and give away sanction letters to beneficiaries of ‘Stand-Up India’ programme, the official said. The President will also distribute land to 500 SCs. For this purpose, the district administration had already acquired 120 acres of land at Thamballapalle and Vayalpadu mandals.

The President will then attend a State dinner at 7.15 pm at the Silparamam and from there he will proceed to Tirumala. After an overnight stay, Ram Nath Kovind will worship Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala in the wee hours of September 2.
