GUNTUR: No permission has been given to the proposed ‘Chalo Amaravati Padayatra’ of former minister Mudragada Padmanabham from Kirlampudi in East Godavari district on July 26, Guntur urban SP Ch Vijaya Rao said.

Addressing a news conference here on Friday, the SP said prohibitory orders under Section 30 of the Police Act and Section 144  of CrPC were promulgated in the district for maintenance of law and order.

No rallies and public meetings would be allowed by any organisation to mobilise support for the padayatra of Kapu leader. Stern action would be taken against violators of the prohibitory orders, the SP said.
