KURNOOL: Nandyal by-election has now entered a stage where challenges and counter challenges by the TDP and YSRC have not just become a prestigious issue for both the parties, but also career-defining moment for Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya and former Minister Silpa Mohan Reddy.

Both Akhila Priya and Mohan Reddy have offered to take ‘Political Sanyas’ if they lost Nandyal by-election. Bhuma Akhila Priya’s cousin Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy is contesting on TDP ticket.

Akhila Priya said that she would resign if TDP lost the by-election. She said: “I will resign from the Ministry, if TDP faces defeat in Nandyal by-poll. I would even offer my resignation letter to the Speaker if such a situation arises.”

Akhila Priya took potshots at Silpa Mohan Reddy accusing him of not keeping his promise of quitting politics after he faced defeat in 2014 polls and choosing to contest against Bhuma Nagireddy. Silpa Mohan Reddy also challenged Bhuma Akhila Priya and told her to be prepared to resign from her post as TDP is going to be defeated in Nandyal by-election.
