Villagers attack Tamil Nadu smugglers

TIRUPATI: Villagers of A Rangampet, located on the foothills of Seshachalam ranges, attacked two smugglers from Tamil Nadu on Friday morning.   The Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force found a group of 10 smugglers in Srinivasa Mangapuram forest while returning from combing operations.

The Task Force caught hold of A Venkatesan (45) and A Srinivasan (35). Later, the Task Force took the duo to A Rangampet village. It informed the villagers that the red sanders smugglers bought the food items locally. The villagers were urged to alert the Task Force, police or forest officials if they notice the movement of smugglers. Some angry villagers attacked the two smugglers. The Task Force shifted the two smugglers from the place.
