Guntur Rural police: Short films to create awareness on crimes

GUNTUR: The Guntur Rural police have been conducting Chetana programme to create awareness among the public on following safety measures to reduce road accident deaths and screening short films on social evils, cybercrimes and women protection in the villages of Guntur district.

The police have launched Chetana vehicle with the support of SBI through which police will screen short films with a duration of one hour on various types of crimes and welfare schemes launched by the State government. Short films on crimes like house burglaries, fake babas cheating people, thefts and ATM robbery are being screened. The police are also screening short films on welfare schemes like Chandranna Bima Pathakam, pension scheme, NTR Arogya Raksha etc.

The police will explain the public through megaphone about the precautionary steps to be taken to avert cybercrimes as they are showing an upward trend in rural areas. The sub-inspector and circle inspector concerned will clear the doubts of villagers after the screening of short films.

Speaking to Express, Guntur Rural SP Ch Venkata Appala Naidu said smart policing is helping the department to maintain law and order in rural areas.

He advised the public to live in harmony. He said that short films on road safety, accidents, cybercrime etc., are being screened with the help of Chetana vehicle equipped with two screens. He further stated that Chetana programme was conducted in 20 villages of Guntur district so far.
