VIJAYAWADA: Vellore Institute of Technology, (VIT) Amaravati organised a national workshop on MATLAB (matrix laboratory) and ANSYS by the Department of Mathematics, VIT-AP, Amaravati, on Friday. The workshop comprises two-day sessions conducted by industry experts from MathWorks and Entuple Technologies, the leading developers of MATLAB and ANSYS software in India.

Acharya Nagarjuna University vice-chancellor A Rajendra Prasad took part in the workshop as a chief guest, while VIT-AP Registrar CLV Sivakumar delivered the welcome address. The workshop drew faculty and research scholars from various science and engineering disciplines. The participants from four states like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh,

Telangana and Karnataka, and more than 16 different institutes including National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal, NIT Karnataka, Anna University, Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU), and Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology (VVIT) took part in the event. In the first session on MATLAB, Viju Ravichandran, senior education technical expert at MathWorks India Private Limited, dealt with symbolic computations, curve fitting, statistics and optimisation, machine learning for data analytics, deep learning for computer vision applications, and Internet of Things (IoT).
