VISAKHAPATNAM: INS-Sahyadri (F-49), the Shivalik-class stealth multi-role frigate, built for the Indian Navy, has recently proved its true spirit of service to the needy at mid sea operations by providing emergency medical assistance to a 20-year-old Australian female sailor, during the ongoing RIMPAC-18 sea phase operations.
In a media release issued here, Indian Navy has revealed that the sea phase of RIMPAC-18 continues, with participating ships operating deep in the Pacific Ocean carrying out complex naval maneuvers and weapon firing serials. During this sea phase, INS Sahyadri received a request for emergency medical assistance from the Australian ship, HMAS-Melbourne.
The medical officer of the Indian ship reached the Australian ship by boat to attend to the medical emergency related to a 20-year-old female sailor, thereby setting an example of true spirit of RIMPAC- as this marks the beginning of continuing as ‘capable, adaptive, partners’.
