KAKINADA: Prakash Ambedkar, grandson of Dr BR Ambedkar, has called for forming a united front of Kapus and Dalits in the State to bring about a “social revolution”. He was speaking at the ‘Dalita-Kapu Ikya Vedika’ held here on Wednesday. The coming together of the two communities in the State would bring political dividends to both the communities, he opined.

Kapu patriarch Mudragada Padmanabham said the meeting was the beginning of a new political front in the State. “In fact, reservation to the Kapu community was suggested by Dr BR Ambedkar. Former minister Neelam Sanjiva Reddy implemented it. However, successive governments have scrapped reservation to Kapus,” he said.

He said the TDP government has failed to implement reservation to Kapus in the State.
