GUNTUR: Guntur Rural Police have arrested a contract killer wanted in multiple cases of murder. Addressing a press conference in Guntur on Saturday, Additional SP M Venkateswarulu identified the accused as SK Nagarjuna and named other two, Tammisetty Gopi and Bhumireddy Venkata Krishna Reddy.

The trio formed a group and robbed their victims posing themselves as CBI officials. They have even murdered some of the victims, the police official said.

The additional SP cited an incident that took place on September 4 in which one Koti Reddy was found murdered in a field at Dammalapadu village of Muppalla mandal. A case was registered after the deceased’s wife lodged a complaint.
During the investigation, it was found that Nagarjuna along with his associates attacked Koti Reddy, who was on a two-wheeler, with a knife, robbed his bag and killed him. Later, Nagarjuna killed Bhumireddy, one of his associates, over a dispute.

Describing the accused’s modus operandi, the police said he guised himself as a cab driver and took his passengers forcibly to secluded places in his car where he would rob them of their ornaments and belongings and kill them eventually. Nagarjuna was also involved in 12 robbing and four murder cases in Guntur and Prakasam districts, they added.
