VIJAYAWADA: The State government on Thursday issued ad-interim orders to the Crime Investigation Department (APCID) for the attachment of immovable properties belonging to the accused in the alleged multicrore FiberNet scam. This move came after the CID urged the government to attach certain immovable properties of the accused and companies in the alleged scam in the FiberNet project Phase-I.
This is the second attachment order issued by the government in the case, and the propert ies at tached are worth about Rs 17.75 crore of Vemuru Hari Krishna, Tummala Gopichand, Tummala Pavana Devi, Tummala Bapaiah Chowdary and Tera Software Pvt Ltd. Last year, the government attached seven properties belonging to Tera Software and others.
Principal Secretary (Home) Harish Kumar Gupta issued GO Ms No 48 dated March 14, 20204, and instructed APCID chief N Sanjay to take necessary action duly following the procedures established by the law, and send the compliance report to the government.
As per the GO, the CID has been authorised to file an application before the Court of Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases in Vijayawada to make the orders absolute. After examining the details, the government has issued ad-interim orders allowing the CID to attach properties, which include flats, plots and agriculture lands in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medak districts in Telangana.
The APCID listed former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu as the prime accused in the case and reported that he (Naidu) conspired with Vemuru Hari Krishna (A2), director of Tera Software, and Tummala Gopichand (A5), hatched a conspiracy, and awarded the FiberNet Phase-I works to Tera Software in a fraudulent manner by accepting false experience certificates.
The APCID alleged that this was a case of criminal misconduct by means of cheating and forgery, designed criminal conspiracy and criminal breach of trust by public servant in connivance with private persons. This had led to misappropriation of Rs 114.53 crore, the APCID added.
