Andhra Pradesh government schools excel in CBSE exams

1,488 out of 1,489 students cleared the Class X examinations, recording 99.93% pass rate

VIJAYAWADA: The government schools in the State have achieved remarkable success in the CBSE examination, announced the Board in New Delhi on Monday. Particularly, the Vijayawada region, which encompasses Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, secured the second-highest pass percentage across the country. This achievement marks the debut results of the region, set up in Vijayawada in 2023.

According to statistics shared by Regional Officer of CBSE Shekhar Chandra, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) schools in the Vijayawada region topped the pass percentage with 100.00% and 99.94% in Class XII and X respectively.

In Andhra Pradesh, a total of 358 schools offer Class X under CBSE, including 15 JNV schools, 33 Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) schools, 289 independent schools, and 21 government schools.

In Class X, out of 1,492 registered government students, 1,489 appeared and an impressive 1,488 students cleared with a pass percentage of 99.93%.

In independent schools, out of 26,511 registered students, 26,470 appeared, with 26,371 clearing the exam, resulting in a pass percentage of 99.63%. Among them, boys achieved a pass percentage of 99.56%, while girls secured 99.72%.

In JNV schools, all 1,063 registered candidates appeared for the exam, with 1,062 successfully clearing it, resulting in a pass percentage of 99.91%. Boys achieved a pass percentage of 99.85%, while girls achieved 100%.

In KV, 2,605 registered candidates, 2,594 appeared with 2,588 cleared the exam, resulting in a pass percentage of 99.77%. Among them, boys achieved a pass percentage of 99.60%, while girls secured 99.93%. Furthermore, 158 schools, including 14 JNV, 25 KV, 106 independent, and 13 government schools, offer Class XII under CBSE in AP , under Vijayawada CBSE Regional Office. In Class XII, from government schools, 1,130 students registered, with 1,117 appearing and 1,116 successfully clearing the exam, resulting in an outstanding pass percentage of 99.91%. Boys achieved a pass percentage of 100%, while girls achieved 99.84%.

For independent schools, out of 8,266 registered candidates, 8,246 appeared, with 8,143 clearing the exam, resulting in a pass percentage of 98.75%. Around 508 students registered from JNV, 506 appeared and all successfully cleared the exam, resulting in a pass percentage of 100%. Similarly, 857 students registered from KV and all the 855 candidates who appeared cleared the exam, with a pass percentage of 100%.
