120 candidates appear for UPSC Mains in Vijayawada on Day 1

The Mains examinations are being conducted on August 21, 22, 23, 29 and 30, with the remaining days having sessions from 9 am to noon and 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

VIJAYAWADA: The UPSC Civil Services Mains examination began in Vijayawada on Friday, with 120 of the 124 candidates appearing for the Paper-I Essay examination at SRR & CVR government Junior College.

NTR Collector G Lakshmisha inspected the examination centre on Friday and reviewed the arrangements made for candidates. The Mains examinations are being conducted on August 21, 22, 23, 29 and 30, with the remaining days having sessions from 9 am to noon and 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. While Friday’s Essay paper was held only in the morning, General Studies-I and II will be conducted on August 22, followed by General Studies-III and IV on August 23. Indian Language and English papers are scheduled for August 29, while optional subjects will be held on August 30.

Ahead of the examinations, the administration held a meeting with UPSC Inspection Officer N Rajeshwara Rao and others.
