MYSORE: Indian cricketer Mahinder Singh Dhoni joined the likes of former cricketers Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath, by adopting a nine-year old tiger ‘Agasthya’ from Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, Mysore, on Wednesday, under Animal Adoption Programme.
Dhoni paid `1 lakh for the adoption.
“The tiger, our national animal, needs protection. I am adopting tiger Agastya to endorse and encourage our people to love animals and to support the cause of animal rights and conservation.
Live and let live,” Mahinder Singh Dhoni stated in a press release.
