BANGALORE: Small-Scale Industries (SSI) Minister Narasimha Nayak also known as Raju Gowda has said the state government will take steps to establish small-scale industries in taluks to generate employment among rural youth.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Nayak said that a large concentration of all sorts of industries in and around Bangalore city has congested the city besides providing employment opportunities only to urban-based boys and girls.

“Rural youth find it difficult to lead their life in Bangalore even if they get employment due to the high cost of living. So, it has been decided to establish small-scale industries in district and taluk places,” Nayak added. According to him, small-scale industries in taluks will prevent migration of youth from villages, which, of late, have been deserted. “B S Yeddyurappa’s dream was to make every village a self-contained unit in all respects where the people are not forced to migrate to cities. Apart from providing basic infrastructure, small-scale industries too will be established,” he said.
