Karnataka Vachana Sahitya Parishat will organise a State-level Vachana Sahitya Sammelana at Raveendra Kalakshetra in Bangalore on June 7, said Parihshat founder-president M V Tyagaraj.
He told reporters here on Sunday that the Parishat, which came into existence in January, aims at spreading the message of Vachanakaras among the youth and highlight the history of Vachana poets among the people. Retired judge V S Malimath will inaugurate the Sammelana while Gangadhar Shivacharya of Abbe Tumkur Peetha will grace the occasion.
Tyagaraj said the district units of the Parishat have been set up in 13 districts of the state.
Vachana rendering programmes are being organised at the district level. The Parishat wants to set up study seats of vachanakaras, to produce movies on them and spread Vachana literature through the internet, he explained.
