The Karnataka Milk Federation’s (KMF) Nandini Good Life, slim skimmed milk and Sampoorna milk will now be available in 100 ml, 200 ml, 500 ml and one litre tetra packs with six layer film protection that can be stored for 180 days.
Speaking at the launch of the new tetra packs here on Tuesday, Managing Director, KMF, A S Premnath said, the federation currently is procuring 55 lakh litres of milk per day and it wants to increase it to 60 lakh litres per day by the end of the year.
Shriya Saran is Brand Ambassador
Multilingual actor Shriya Saran has been roped in as KMF brand ambassador to promote its products in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.
Sandalwood actors Punnet Rajkumar and Ragini Dwivedi are brand ambassadors for KMF products in the State, said Premnath.
Additional Chief Secretary V Umesh said more than 22 lakh members of milk federations and over 1,000 employees are involved in supplying milk every day and it is also supplying milk to army personnel posted in border areas.
This is a Rs 6,000 crore turnover business and focus will be to improve it and establish the brand name and become second to none, he said.
Regional Manager, Tetra Pak, P Srinivas said the initiative was started from Kolar dairy and now covers Mandya and Channarayapatna. “At present, four lakh litres of milk is packed and efforts are on to raise it to 10 lakh. Once plants at Hassan, Chamrajnagar, Bangalore and Bijapur are operational this target can be easily be achieved in a year,” he said.
He also said over one lakh litres of milk is supplied to Singapore, which is very strict with its food safety standards. Shriya Saran, who was born in Uttarakhand said,”I love milk but these day I hear about adulteration and dilution and loss to farmers. Doing a bit for farmers is always good and I am satisfied being a part of this process.”
Roopa Iyer, who has directed films like Mukhaputa, is directing the commercial for KMF involving Shriya Saran. She said, “The pre-production is complete and commercial for Tamil, Telugu are different in terms of timing.” Director (Marketing), KMF-Bangalore, Ravikumar Kakade and Managing Director, Manmul-Mandya, Lakshman Reddy, were present.One litre tetra pack of Good Life is sold for `40 across South India. It is sold for `52 at Nagaland and `51 in West Bengal.
Good Life has 3.5 per cent fat content. Sampoorna, another brand, has 4.5 fat content and Slim Skimmed milk has zero per cent fat content.
