MP’s Fans Go 'Bullish' on Social Media

Express News Service

Leaders in rural areas may not be active on the social media but some of their urban counterparts discuss serious politics on it.

Sitting Tumkur MP G S Basavaraju, BJP nominee, may not be keen on plunging into the virtual world, but a section of his fans and foes is slugging it out on the social media.

Interestingly, he has been given the nickname of ‘bull king’ in readiness for a fierce battle. As soon as his renomination from Tumkur was confirmed, youth Congress leader Shashi Hulkuntemutt, a Lingayat, posted ‘BJP ruled out in Tumkur’.

GSB fans were quick to react. Umashankar K P not only termed him ‘bull king’ but also pasted a picture of an aggressive bull in a counter attack. Harsha Aradhya posted ‘Congress chale Italy.’

Entrepreneur Surendar Shaw raises the issue as to why some of the Congress leaders were reluctant to contest the polls.
