Raghavendra Rajkumar, Wife Face Suicide Abetment Charge

Express News Service

BENGALURU: A 49-year-old accountant of a premier film production house allegedly hanged himself at a lodge on Thursday.

Following his death, his family has filed a case of abetment to suicide against Raghavendra Rajkumar and his wife Mangala, who run Vajreshwari Combines in Gandhinagar.

The production house is run by the family of Kannada idol Rajkumar (1929-2006). The family did not respond to repeated calls from Express.

Kumar Kotekar, a native of Udupi, was a resident of Thyagarajanagar. He had been an employee of the production house for many years, police said.

Kotekar had booked Room 202 in Manjunatha Paradise on Cottonpet Main Road on Thursday. In the evening, when the staff went to see why he had not come out, they found his body hanging from the ceiling. They alerted the Cottonpet police, who then informed his family about his death.

Complainant Vinayak told the police Raghavendra and Mangala had been harassing his father over alleged misappropriation of funds. Based on his complaint, police have registered a case.
