HDK Ridicules Siddu's Claim of 'Clean' Government

Express News Service

BENGALURU: Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday took a dig at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s claims of providing a ‘scam-free’ government. He accused it of turning a blind eye to the illegal single digit lottery business and challenged the CM to order a CBI probe into the issue.

Participating in a ‘Meet the Press’ programme organised by the Press Club and the Reporters Guild, Kumaraswamy alleged that the illegal lottery trade has the backing of some police officers and Home Minister K J George. He expressed his readiness to provide documents about the illegal lottery trade if a CBI probe is ordered into it.

Kumaraswamy also said that illegal sand mining and transport has been going on without any hindrance. “Illegal sand trade is rampant in the CM’s native district of Mysuru. He should be ashamed to claim that he has given a scam-free government. There are instances of MLAs themselves calling up officers to release the sand lorries confiscated for their illegal act,” Kumaraswamy said. “There is no place for honest and upright officers in Siddaramaiah’s regime,” he said.
