Four Tigers Sighted Near Shivamogga

SHIVAMOOGA: A total of  four tigers were spotted near Lakkinakoppa near the city on Thursday night.

A cow was killed and eaten by the tigers.   Forest Department staff have informed higher authorities about this. Recently, tigers were spotted near a village in the district.

Forest Department sources said a male tiger and female tiger as well as two cubs were spotted on the Lakkinakoppa-Umblebailu road on Thursday night.

When Forest Department authorities inspected the spot on Friday morning, they  found the carcass of a cow which was completely eaten by the tigers.

The villagers and Forest Department staff found the pugmarks of the tigers around nearby villages. In the last week, the tigers  killed around four cows in forests under the Bhadra Reserve Forest area.
