I-T officials raid Janardhan Reddy after the exorbitant wedding

The raid comes in the wake of his daughter’s wedding, in which he allegedly spent between Rs 200-500 crores.

BALLARI: Following a grandiose wedding of his daughter, the offices of Obulapuram Mining Company and Associated Mining Company, both owned by mining baron and BJP leader Janardhan Reddy and his family was raided by Income Tax sleuths, here on Monday.

The raid comes in the wake of his daughter’s wedding, in which he allegedly spent between Rs 200-500 crores. Reddy, who was attending a reception for the newly-wed couple in Hyderabad, returned back to Ballari.

The raid was based on a complaint filed by a social activist, details of which are yet to be known. Recently, responding to a question by the Express correspondent, Reddy had said that he would submit details of expenditure to I-T department once the marriage was over.
