BENGALURU: Karnataka energy minister D K Shivakumar, who is currently in Delhi, is likely to discuss with Rahul Gandhi how to foil BJP's alleged plans to poach 43 Gujarat MLAs who are camping in a resort in Bengaluru.

He will also seek AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi's permission to take the MLAs for a visit of tourist spots in Karnataka.

Shivakumar, who is on an official visit to Delhi is likely to meet Rahul later in the day to discuss the developments related to Rajya Sabha polls in Gujarat. In Karnataka, Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi's political secretary Ahmed Patel is contesting for the Rajya Sabha and is facing a tough fight from BJP.

The MLAs huddled in the resort for the past four days had expressed their wish to visit Madikeri, Shravanabelagola and other places. Shivakumar has been assigned the task of taking care of the MLAs and foil BJP's alleged efforts to lure them with money and blackmail tactics.
