Karnataka schoolboy poisoned and killed

The boy has been identified as Shashank, a ninth standard student of Ashirvad English Medium School and a resident of Government Employees Colony in Hemagiri.

MANDYA: The body of a schoolboy was found in the bushes at Hemagiri in K R Pet taluk of Karnataka on Tuesday. He seemed to have been poisoned and his throat was slit.

The boy has been identified as Shashank, a ninth standard student of Ashirvad English Medium School and a resident of Government Employees Colony in Hemagiri. He was the son of Sujatha, a school teacher in Bommenahalli and Lokesh, a farmer.

The boy was noticed missing since Monday afternoon. After an overnight search, Shashank's body was discovered one km from his house by villagers who were going to work in the fields on Tuesday morning. 
A case has been registered at the KR Pet Rural Police Station.
