CHITRADURGA/TUMAKURU: BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa and other party leaders on Friday partook breakfast at a Dalit BJP leader’s house in Chitradurga.

However, Yeddyurappa had idlis and vada brought from a hotel as it was not prepared at the house of Rudramuni.

But BJP media in-charge Dagge Shivaprakash told Express that, “As Yeddyurappa liked idli and vada, it was brought from a hotel. He also ate pulav that was prepared at the Dalit’s home.”

Meanwhile in Tumakuru, whispers are doing the rounds that BJP leaders had breakfast that was ordered from caterers, at a Dalit's house during their ‘Jansampark Abhiyan’ on Thursday

The issue has become a talking point in the political circles as the owner of a popular food joint, who had ‘supplied’ the special ‘thatte idlis’ had admitted to it.

Haraluru Shivakumar, a staunch supporter of former Tumakuru MP G S Basavaraju had reportedly supplied the ‘thatte idlis’.

Union Minister H N Anant Kumar appreciated the Dalit family for the special idlis which also had lots of veggies in it.

Party spokesman Halanuru Lepkash denied that the leaders ate catered breakfast. “They ate what was prepared by the Dalits,” Lepkash maintained.

“Yes, the idlis were supplied by Haraluru Shivakumar but the workers ate them,” he clarified.
