Karnataka HC to pass orders if no solution to doctors' strike is found

The division bench asked the advocate general and the counsel of IMA to ascertain the situation and find out a solution to the crisis which is affecting the general public.

BENGALURU: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday orally asked the state government as well as the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to find out a solution to the ongoing indefinite strike by 22,000 private doctors from nearly 6,000 medical establishments across Bengaluru.

The division bench of acting chief justice H G Ramesh and judge P S Dinesh Kumar asked the advocate general and the counsel of IMA to ascertain the situation and find out a solution to the crisis which is affecting the general public. Otherwise, the court will pass the orders by 2.30 pm on Thursday, said the bench while adjourning the hearing of two public interest litigation petitions filed by one Adinarayana Shetty from Nelamangala and Amrutesh, a practicing advocate of the High Court.

The duo has filed the petitions against the doctors strike over KPME Act, explaining the deaths and sufferings of patients due to non-availability of medical services by the private hospitals and nursing homes.
