BENGALURU: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy who disagreed with former CM Siddaramaiah on presenting a new full-fledged budget received support from unexpected quarters on Sunday with Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara concurring with his view.

“It is routine for any new government to present its own full-fledged budget that would reflect its promises and commitments to the electorate,” Parameshwara told reporters here.

The comment is seen as a counter to Siddaramaiah who on Saturday opposed Kumaraswamy’s wish to present a fresh budget. He wanted Kumaraswamy to present a supplementary budget if necessary by incorporating some of his(HDK) fresh programmes including farm loan waiver. Siddaramaiah’s suggestion was opposed by Kumaraswamy.

Concurring with Kumaraswamy’s view, Parameshwara said that however the issue should be discussed first in the Coordination committee meeting. “We have formed a committee to draft the Common Minimum Programme for the coalition government. The budget cannot be presented without the CMP,” Parameshwara said.
