GT Devegowda finally agrees to head higher education ministry

GT Devegowda, the JD(S) MLA from Chamundeshwari constituency,   has finally agreed to head the higher education ministry. Earlier, he had refused to take it up and requested for the change.

BENGALURU: GT Devegowda, the JD(S) MLA from Chamundeshwari constituency,   has finally agreed to head the higher education ministry. Earlier, he had refused to take it up and requested for the change. But ,the Chief Minister did not change the portfolio. However, on Thursday, Kumaraswamy met and convinced him. Devegowda has announced of taking charge on Friday morning. Sources from the CM office said that while agreeing, Devegowda put a condition saying there should not be any interference from Prof Rangappa, former Vice Chancellor of Mysore university. It is said that the CM even agreed to this.
