MYSURU: Tussle between MLA Sa Ra Mahesh and IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri ceases to end as the JDS leader has filed a civil and criminal defamation case against the former deputy commissioner of Mysuru.
Revealing this during a press meet here on Sunday, Mahesh said he is taking such a move as the IAS officer had accused him of land grabbing and encroachment and tried to damage his political career with her defamatory statements on social media.

“She also tried to project her transfer was due to pressure mounted by land grabbers. She was moved out for messing up the Covid-19 situation in the district by hiding the mortality and death data,” said Mahesh. The former minister said though the regional commissioner has given him a clean chit in the case and the government is probing the case, now I have filed a civil and criminal defamation suit.

Advocate S Arunkumar of Pragabhi Law association said he has filed the case in the court of second additional district session seeking damage of `1 crore from the IAS officer. Rohini Sindhuri who is currently serving as the commissioner of Hindi Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments department is asked to file her reply by October 20.
