DAVANGERE: Haveri MP and former CM Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is a “record-holder” when it comes to borrowing, and demanded that all records showing how much debt was incurred during different tenures be made public.

“If we had borrowed Rs 50,000 crore during our time, they have borrowed Rs 1.4 lakh crore during their tenure. They themselves have presented this in the budget. Now, during elections, they are making false claims,” he alleged.

He further added that such a situation should not have arisen for a Chief Minister, and emphasised that discussions should be based on facts rather than concealing the truth.
