The exercise of issuing notices to electors will start from August 31, seven days after the publication of the draft electoral rolls, scheduled for August 24, 2026. Notices will be issued under the no-mapping (unable to share 2002 SIR data) and anomaly (logical discrepancies) categories. For electors staying in the Assembly constituencies of Nippani, Chikkodi-Sadalga, Belagavi, Khanapur, Basavakalyan, Bhalki, Aurad, Haliyal and Karwar, the notices will be issued in Kannada and Marathi.

For electors under Kalaburagi North and South Assembly constituencies, the notices will be issued in Kannada and Urdu. For electors falling under the assembly constituencies of Kolar Gold Fields, Bangalore Urban, BBMP North, BBMP South, BBMP Central and other assembly constituencies, it will be sent in Kannada and English.

Directions from the CEO office also showed that electors in Manjeswar and Kasargod will get notices in Malayalam and Kannada.

“This is the first time such an exercise is being done,” an official said. The official added that if the elector is unable to understand and follow any of the listed regional languages, then the notices can be sent in the elector’s preferred language along with English.

“The purpose of sending the notices in multiple languages is for the elector to understand and get the required communication. If unable to follow, the elector can call up the respective area BLO, whose name and number are printed on the enumeration form. They can also contact the Electoral Registration Officer of the area,” the official said.
