K. Sreekumar has been selected for the Sree Padmanabha Swami children’s literature award

KOLLAM:  K. Sreekumar has been selected for the Sree Padmanabha Swami children’s literature award, instituted by Gramam Samskarika Vedi for his novel `Ozhivukalam.’  Sreekumar, a native of Chottanikkara and a journalist with the Mathrubhoomi daily at Kozhikode, had penned over 100 children’s literary works.  He has also received many awards, including that of Sangeeth Nataka Academy and Kerala Sahithya Academy, and Bheema Sahithya award.  

The award, which consists of a cash prize of Rs 5,001, a memento and a citation, will be given away to him at a function to be held in Kollam on December 14.  Uthradom Thirunal Marthandavarma of the Travancore Royal family will give away the Sree Padmanabha Swami children’s literature award to K. Sreekumar, Gramam Samskarika Vedi office-bearers said here.
