PALAKKAD: The Sree Narayana Dharma Vedi (SNDV) is committed to cleansing the SNDP Yogam and it will continue its efforts both organisationally and legally towards this end, said Sree Narayana Dharma Vedi chairman Gokulam Gopalan.

Addressing newsmen here on the sidelines of the district- level convention of the Vedi, Gopalan said that SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan was famous for his unilateral and dictatorial ways. He said that members of the Ezhava community had benefited in the last 13 years during which Velappally Natesan was at the helm of the Yogam. The Vedi has constituted district-level committees in all districts, except Kasaragod and Malappuram.

Sree Narayana Dharma Vedi general convener C K Vidyasagar, who was earlier associated with Vellappally Natesan, said that the `Sammelan’ planned by the SNDP Yogam in Kochi for the `proclamation of rights’ was being organised with the help of the beneficiaries of the micro finance scheme.

Vidyasagar said that 24 of the 120 taluk unions functioning under the SNDP Yogam were under the rule of administrators.
