It’s jubilee year for Fr Bosco Vetticka.

KOCHI: The Social Welfare Technical School (SWTS) at Aluva will be in a festive mood on Friday as it hosts the golden jubilee of the religious profession and the sacerdotal silver jubilee of Fr Bosco Vetticka.

Septuagenarian Fr Bosco, a native of Kokkunnu in Mookkannoor, who joined the Congregation of St Therese (CST) as a Religious Brother in 1957 was a member of the first faculty of SWTS ITC. He has served the Thalassery Bishop’s House and Kozhippilly Asramam in Kothamangalam and various mission centres for 17 years. The founder principal of Igmenz ITC in Ajmeer, Rajastan, Fr Bosco opted to join the LF congregation when the CST congregation was divided in 1978. He was ordained to priesthood in 1984 and is now the director of SWTS Association, Aluva, and social secretary of St Joseph’s province of LF congregation.

A concelebrat e d high mass at Ashramam Church in SWTS premises will mark the beginning of the jubilee celebrations on Friday at 2.15 pm. This will be followed by a public meeting which will be inaugurated by Ernakulam Auxiliary Bishop Mar Thomas Chakyath at the LF Auditorium. Fr Joseph Chathanattu, CST general, will preside over. CST St Joseph’s provincial Fr James Mundackal will deliver the keynote address. Fr Paul Manayambilly, Fr Sebastian Palatty, Gregory Joseph, Jayaprakasan, Mathew Ninan, Fr Jobby Chully and M P Jose will speak at the function.
