ALAPPUZHA: Janata Dal (United) state general secretary P J Kurian demanded the NDA leaders to act as mediators for solving the Mullaperiyar issue through mutual talks rather than sensationalising it.
In a press release issued here on Friday, he said that the Mullaperiyar dispute was not a regional issue but a national one.
“It is the matter of water for Tamil Nadu but for us it concerns the lives of thousands of people,” he said.
He also alleged that the UPA Government did not show any interest to sort out the Mullaperiyar issue sans any delay.
