ALAPPUZHA: Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan will inaugurate the new complex of the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital at Vandanam at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
Health Minister P K Sreemathi will preside over the function.
Cooperation Minister G Sudhakaran will inaugurate the operation theatres at the MCH while PWD Minister P J Joseph will hand over the key of the hospital.
Finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac will hand over the key of the MCH building in the Town to Alappuzha General Hospital authorities.
Food and Civil Supplies Minister C Divakaran will inaugurate the surgical block of the hospital while Water Resources Minister N K Premachandran will inaugurate the drinking water supply scheme at the hospital.
Transport Minister Jose Thettayil will inaugurate the blood bank and the diagnostic block will be inaugurated by Devaswom Minister Kadannapally Ramachandran. UDF leader G Karthikeyan will deliver the keynote address.
Health Secretary Usha Titus will present the report. District Collector P Venugopal and Medical College principal A Ramlabeevi will also speak at the function.
Modern MRI scan centre at Alappuzha MCH
Finance Minister T M Thomas Isaac will inaugurate the modern MRI scan centre set up at the Alappuzha Medical College on Tuesday.
The scan centre has been set up by the HLL Life Care Limited by spending Rs 7 crore.
The MRI scan centre has been set up at the Alappuzha MCH apart from Kottayam and Thrissur MCHs by the HLL as per the MoU inked by the firm with the State Government, the HLL authorities said in a statement “We will provide free diagnosis for 10 percent persons who belong to the BPL families. The scan centre has all the state-ofthe- art facilities including teleradiology.
The radiology students of the MCH can also visit the centre as part of their study,” they added.
