KOCHI: On the basis of the recent revelations regarding the ice cream parlour sex scandal, a Vigilance inquiry has been initiated against former Additional Director-General of Prosecutions K C Peter and Sunny, the son-in-law of former judge Justice K Narayana Kurup, the state government has submitted before the Kerala High Court.

Advocate-General C P Sudhakara Prasad submitted this while a petition seeking probe on the allegations against retired judges Justice K Thankappan and Justice Narayana Kurup came up for consideration on Tuesday.

“An inquiry will also be initiated against the retired judges if there is evidence against them in the Vigilance inquiry against Sunny and Peter. The details of inquiry would be brought to the notice of the Chief Justice of India. Further action will be taken as per the direction of the Chief Justice,” the AG submitted.

There were allegations that Justice K Thankappan and Justice Narayana Kurup had accepted bribe to issue verdict in favour of the accused in ice cream case. The petition seeking probe against the retired judges was filed by Navothana Vedi, Ettumanoor.
