THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPI-M in Kerala would be contesting in 93 seats including eight independents in the 140 member Kerala assembly for which elections are slated on April 13.

As per the seat sharing agreement CPI, the second largest partners in the ruling LDF, would contest 27 seats, Front convener Vaikom Viswam told reporters after LDF state committee meeting here on Monday.

JD (S) have been allotted five seats, while RSP and NCP four seats each.

Kerala Congress led by P C Thomas and Indian National League (outside partner) would contest three seats each.

The Congress (S) has given one seat. The LDF state committee also approved the Front manifesto, which would be released at a function to be held at the AKG Centre here on Tuesday.

LDF candidates would be finalised before March 18, he said.

Answering questions on court order on palmolein case, he said LDF welcomes the court order for a further probe into the graft case.
