The Viyyur police on Wednesday arrested a 19-year-old Plus-two student for allegedly abducting and raping a minor girl.
According to the police, Roshan, of Thrissur, was in a relationship with a 16-year-old girl, a student of a reputed school in Thrissur, for the past few months.They had eloped to Thiruvananthapuram on August 5 and stayed in a lodge for a night. Following this, the girl’s parents registered a complaint with the police here. In their complaint, they said that the girl had told them that she had to attend a contact class at a Thrissur-based school, from where they went to Thiruvananthapuram.Following the complaint, the police took the youth into custody and took the girl to a private hospital for medical checkup. The boy has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days
