THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The K Ramakrishnan Commission which probed into the Cheriyathura police firing submitted its report to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday.

 Six persons had died and several others were injured in the firing on May 17, 2009.  Ramakrishnan submitted a 815-page report to the Chief Minister. The commission had admitted the statements of about 60 people and perused 150 supporting documents in reaching its findings.

 The commission had also collected evidence from DGP Jacob Punnoose, then Collector Sanjay Kaul, IG Gopinathan and then RDO K Biju.

 Chandy said that the report would be handed over to the Home Department. The police firing had taken place on May 17, 2009. District Judge K Ramakrishnan was appointed on August 9 the same year.
