Sabarimala shrine opened

The hill shrine of Lord Ayyappa was opened on Wednesday for the celebration of the eight-day long Vishu festival.

Melsanthi Damodaran Potti opened the Sreekovil of the temple at 5.30 pm in the presence of Tantri Kandararu Rajivaru.

As a practice, no ritual was held at the temple in the evening.The annual Vishukkani darsan for the devotees will be held at 4 am on April 14. Thantri Kandararu Rajivaru will distribute coins to the devotees who arrive for Vishukkani darsan.

The shrine will be closed on the evening of April 18.
