Express News Service

The 19th state convention of the Kerala CBSE School Managements Association will be held at Angamaly on Sunday.

Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor will inaugurate the conference to be held at Adlux Auditorium, Angamaly. K P Dhanapalan MP will preside over the function. CBSE chairman Vineet Joshi will deliver the keynote address.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, Kerala CBSE School Managements’ Association office-bearers said unlike previous  conferences, principals of CBSE schools would also take part in the conference.

“The conference is being held at a time when the CBSE school managements are facing various challenges. Around 2,000 delegates   representing more than 1,000 schools will  attend the conference,” management association president T P M Ibrahim Khan and secretary Indira Rajan said at the press conference.

“We want to bring these issues to the notice of the Ministry of HRD and the CBSE national leadership,” Indira Rajan said.

The office-bearers alleged that the state  government was not giving due consideration to CBSE schools and its students.

“The state government is following a step-motherly policy towards CBSE schools and students studying under this stream. Our students are often denied opportunity for higher studies on the basis of flimsy reasons,” Ibrahim Khan said.
