Sreesanth reaches Sabarimala

Express News Service

Cricketer Sreesanth reached the Lord Ayyappa Temple in Sabarimala on Friday after having spent a quiet day at brother-in-law Madhu Balakrishnan’s home in Tripunithura on Thursday. Brother Deepu Santh and Madhu, along with a few friends and well-wishers, are accompanying him.

While lodged in Tihar jail on charges of spot fixing, Sreesanth had taken a vow that he would shave or cut his hair only after praying at Sabarimala. Earlier, Sreesanth had offered ‘thulabharam’ at the Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple in Tripunithura. He chose the Kadali variety of bananas for the offering. His parents Shantakumaran Nair and Savithri Devi, along with Madhu, were present on the occasion.

The only other time Sreesanth had ventured out of Madhu Balakrishnan’s house during the last two days was to fetch clothes from his residence in Edappally on Thursday. The Rajasthan Royals cricketer had returned to his home town on Wednesday after being granted bail in the IPL spotfixing case.
