Repolling: 76 Percent Voting Recorded in Kalamassery

Heavy polling was recorded at the majority of the polling booths in the Kalamassery Assembly constituency, where re-polling was ordered. The polling percentage was 75.96 percent.

The Election Commission had declared re-polling in Kalamassery, which comes under the Ernakulam Lok Sabha constituency, after voting machines developed technical snag during the previous polling held on April 10.

Out of the 150 booths in the constituency, 37  recorded voter turnouts of more than 80 percent. As many as 93 booths registered 70-79 percent polling, while 19 booths witnessed 60-69 percent polling. In one booth, the poll percentage was around 50 percent.

Of the 1,73,468 voters in the constituency, 1,31,839 exercised their franchise, with male voters surpassing their female counterparts.

With 85.67 percent polling, booth number 58 at Karumalloor recorded the highest voter turnout. Meanwhile, booth number 35 at South Aduvassery registered the lowest polling of 22.42 percent.

As many as 1243 voters exercised their franchise at the Karumalloor LPS booth, which was the highest recorded in a booth. With 408 voters, the booth at the Manjummal Sree Narayana Hall witnessed the lowest voter turnout.
