Anoop Menon Weds Longtime Friend Shema

Express News Service

KOCHI: Director and scriptwriter Anoop Menon tied the knot with his longtime friend Shema Alexander on Saturday, at a ceremony that was as unconventional as most of the films he associates with.

Sans any filmy glamour, the wedding was held at Anoop’s flat in Kochi. Only a few persons, including close friends and relatives of the couple, attended the function. The couple will donate the money they saved by minimising the cost of wedding to cancer patients.

The duo had been friends for the past five years, and were rumoured to get married.

Later, Anoop announced the news through his Facebook account. ‘Getting married to my longtime friend Shema Alexander today morning 7.30 am at my home… you all have been the pillars of support all through my life… humbly seeking your blessings and prayers… love you all…’ - he posted.

Anoop is son of P Gangadharan Nair and Indira Menon (Parampath Veettil, Balussery). Shema is daughter of Prince Alexander and the late Lily of Thottumukkam, Pathanapuram.
