ALAPPUZHA: K C Venugopal MP inaugurated the beach festival organised by the district administration, Alappuzha municipality and the District Tourism Promotion Council on beach here on Monday.
G Sudhakaran MLA inaugurated the cultural programmes as part of the festival. Municipal chairperson Mercy Diana Macedo presided over the function. District Collector N Padmakumar distributed various prizes to the winners of competition organised as part of the festival. A ‘nattarangupattukoottam’ and musical fusion by Stephan Devassy were held after the inaugural function.Thiruvananthapuram Bharathbhavan will stage a dance programme at 6 pm on Tuesday. Actor Ramesh Pisharady and team will perform a comedy show at 8 pm.
Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala will inaugurate a New Year celebration at 7 pm on Wednesday. An art night organised by Temple of English and ganamela by Renjini Jose and Franco will be held at 8 pm. A firework will also be arranged.
