MALAPPURAM : The Marine Drive at Kochi will now witness a new protest titled ‘Smile of Love’ against the degradation of moral values in Kerala society.

The students’ organisation of the E K Sunni faction, Campus Wing, is planning the programme on Saturday evening. The E K Sunni faction members are staunch supporters of the Indian Union Muslim League.

The protesters also plan to kiss the children coming with their families to Marine Drive to spend their evening, if they are comfortable with it.

The Campus Wing will distribute brochures containing moral values to the families at Marine Drive. They will also explain to the family members the moral values they follow.

“It is not a protest against the ‘Kiss of Love’ protest held at Marine Drive.

“We want to remind this generation about the moral values of society and show them how one can kiss affectionately. What happened at Marine Drive last week was complete anarchism. We strongly oppose such kinds of public expression of affection.

“Strange women and men should keep their eyes down when they pass each other. We want to remind these things through our programme at Marine Drive,” Campus Wing coordinator Shabin Mohammed said on Thursday.

The organisers will smile at  strange men passing by, to show respect for each other.

The organisers of the protest said that around 200 Campus Wing members from various parts of the state would attend the programme.

The Campus Wing is conducting the programme without obtaining police permission.
