Stone for Lulu Cyber Tower-2 to be Laid

KOCHI: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will lay the foundation stone of the ‘Lulu Cyber Tower-2’ on the Infopark campus, Kakkanad, on Thursday.

The function will be presided over by Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty. On the occasion, Opposition deputy leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan will unveil the model of the project.

The Cyber Tower-2 will be developed by the Lulu Group, at an estimated cost of `350 crore.

The project plan has been prepared by a team of internationally renowned architects.

“After completion, the project is expected to generate around 11,000 new jobs. The construction of the Cyber Tower will begin on Thursday itself, and will be completed within 28 months, in a time-bound manner.

The building will be environment-friendly, and will pursue LEED certification for echo-friendliness,” said Lulu Group MD Yusuff Ali M A.  The announcement of Lulu Cyber Tower-2, which will have a total area of 13 lakh sqft after completion, has already drawn the attention of various IT companies, including US-based technology firms.

The Lulu Group had earlier acquired the L&T Tech Park at Infopark   for `150 crore, taking its total IT investment to `500 crore.

In the refurbished Lulu Cyber Tower-1, which was earlier known as Tejomaya, about 4,000 persons are working.
