Skill Park will be Set up in Pala: Mani

KOTTAYAM: Finance Minister K M Mani has said that the government will set up a Community Skill Park in Pala spending `12 crore. He was speaking after inaugurating a conference held as part of a development seminar, ‘Vision 2030’ at St Mary’s Parish hall in Pala on Friday.

The government had announced 30 community skill parks in the state budget 2014-15. According to him, these parks are the refurbished form of the Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP) of the state government. “Out of the `12 crore earmarked for the project, `6 crore each would be utilised respectively for infrastructure development and obtaining required machinery,” he said. Similar parks will be set up in all the 140 constituencies in the state. These will function as a skill hub, he said.

Mani said the government sanction has been received for constructing a shopping complex-cum-KSRTC bus terminal also in Pala.
