Reshuffle in Police Department

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:The government on Wednesday prepared a detailed list of transfers of certain IPS officers in the state. One IG and eight SPs were included in the ‘shuffling’ list, according to sources.  Crime Branch IG T J Jose has been appointed as Thrissur Range IG.

Police Academy IG Suresh Raj Purohit was holding the charge of Thrissur range ever since IG Shaik Darvesh Saheb was promoted as ADGP, sources said.

 Kochi DCP R Nishanthini, who was probing the cocaine case there, has been appointed as  Thrissur Commissioner.

No one has been appointed in her place as DCP. Jacob George, who was holding the post of the Thrissur Commissioner, has been appointed as Pathanamthitta SP. Incumbent Pathanamthitta SP A Sreenivasan has been transferred to Kasargod while Thomson Jose, the current Kasargode SP, has been shifted to the Police Academy, Thrissur.

 Kollam Rural SP S Surendran and Coastal AIG S Sasikumar have been mutually transferred.  Vigilance SP Joseph has been appointed as new the Idukki District Police Chief.

D Madhu from the Police Academy, Thrissur has been transferred to KAP IV Battalion in Kannur. DySPs Vijayan D and P B Rajeev of Thiruvananthapuram City Special Branch and Thrissur Special Branch respectively have been promoted as SPs (non-IPS). 

While Vijayan has been appointed as SP at Vigilance special cell in Kozhikode, P BRajeev is posted at Crime Branch headquarters here. SP T A Salim has been posted as Special Armed Police commandant.

Joint Land Revenue Commissioner B Mohanan has been given the additional charge of Registration IG. The decision was taken at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
